Weekly Market Recap: May 25, 2026

The real estate market in Gunnison County absolutely picked up steam during the week of May 18–24, 2026, delivering one of the strongest weeks of the spring season so far. The county saw an impressive 35 new listings, along with 17 new sales, and a total sales volume reaching $17,253,000. That’s a huge jump in both inventory and buyer activity, showing that the market is fully embracing the momentum of late spring heading into summer. Buyers are clearly active, sellers are confidently bringing homes to market, and the valley continues to attract attention from those looking for mountain-town living and lifestyle opportunities in places like Crested Butte and Gunnison.

Compared to the previous week (May 11–17), which recorded 16 new listings, 12 sales, and $8,449,000 in volume, this latest report shows a dramatic increase across the board. Listings more than doubled, sales activity climbed significantly, and total volume surged by nearly $9 million. That kind of growth is a strong indicator that the market is entering one of its busiest periods of the year. More inventory gives buyers additional choices, while the rise in transactions highlights continued demand and confidence in Gunnison County real estate heading into the summer season.

Looking ahead to this week, Gunnison County is beginning to feel more like early summer. Expect daytime temperatures in the 60s to low 70s°F, cool mountain evenings, and plenty of sunshine mixed with occasional afternoon rain showers. Local events, outdoor festivals, farmers markets, and community gatherings are beginning to fill the calendar as visitors and seasonal residents return to the valley. Trails and parks continue opening up, the landscape is turning greener by the day, and there’s an exciting energy throughout the community as summer activity ramps up.
