Weekly Market Recap: March 2, 2026

The market in Gunnison County, Colorado wrapped up February on a strong and steady note! From February 23 to March 1, 2026, we saw 11 new listings, 6 new sales, and an impressive $5,873,000 in total sales volume. While that’s slightly below the prior week’s 13 new listings, 7 sales, and $7.77M in volume, the numbers show continued buyer confidence and solid momentum heading into March. Even with a modest dip week-over-week, nearly $6M in closed volume is nothing to overlook — it tells us serious buyers are still making decisive moves in our mountain market.

Compared to February 16–22, this week reflects a healthy normalization after a particularly high-volume stretch. Fewer listings can mean less competition for sellers, and steady sales activity continues to demonstrate demand remains present and engaged. As we transition from late winter into early spring, this kind of consistency is exactly what we like to see — a balanced, active market preparing for the seasonal uptick that’s right around the corner.

    What to Expect This Week
March in the Gunnison Valley typically delivers a mix of sunny bluebird days and fresh snowfall, keeping winter recreation in full swing while hinting at spring ahead. Expect cool mornings, daytime highs gradually moderating, and plenty of activity at local ski areas and community gathering spots throughout the valley. Early March often brings spring break visitors, winter festivals, and an overall energetic vibe across Gunnison Valley — all of which tend to boost interest in real estate as visitors start imagining a place of their own in the mountains.
