Gunnison County’s real estate market had another busy and encouraging week, with 8 new listings, 17 new sales, and $29,504,800 in total sales volume from August 17–23, 2026. While new listings eased from 14 the previous week, closed sales remained strong at 17 compared with 18, and the real headline was the sales volume: $29.5 million, up more than 54% from the previous week’s $19,124,400! That jump suggests several higher-value properties contributed to a particularly strong week of closings. Overall, buyers and sellers are clearly still getting deals done, making this a great time to keep an eye on what is moving across Gunnison County.
Outside of real estate, summer is still putting on a great show in the Gunnison Valley. This week is expected to bring warm afternoons in the low-to-mid 80s, cooler evenings in the 40s, and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms, so it is a classic Colorado week: sunshine, clouds, and maybe a little mountain rain mixed in. The local calendar remains active as August winds down, with events including the American Discovery Trail 250 Relay, live music from Jim Davidson, Summer Shakespeare in the Park, community art activities, and other outdoor and cultural happenings throughout the valley. On the real estate side, the broader Gunnison market continues to offer buyers more choices than in recent years, while properties are still selling at a healthy pace. With strong sales volume heading into the final stretch of August, it will be interesting to see whether this momentum carries into the early-fall market.
