    Living Journeys Summit Hike

Every July, Crested Butte’s most inspiring and heart-driven event takes place high in the mountains — the Living Journeys Summit Hike. This annual fundraiser brings together locals and visitors alike to honor those affected by cancer while supporting vital programs and services in Gunnison County. The hike to the summit of Crested Butte Mountain isn’t just a physical challenge — it’s a meaningful journey filled with purpose, camaraderie, and breathtaking alpine views. Whether you hike in memory of a loved one or to show your support for those currently battling cancer, this event creates a powerful sense of community and hope.

Set last July 26, 2025, the Summit Hike included several options for all fitness levels, from a 1-mile contemplative walk to the full 11-mile hike to the 12,162-foot summit. Participants were welcomed with breakfast, encouraged by aid stations along the way, and celebrated with lunch and live music at the base area after the hike. All proceeds went directly to Living Journeys, a local nonprofit that provides emotional support, financial assistance, and enrichment programs for Gunnison Valley residents facing cancer.

    Event Highlights:
    Date: Saturday, July 26, 2025
Location: Crested Butte Mountain Resort Base Area
Options: 11-mile summit hike, 4.6-mile Westside Trail, or 1-mile Journey Walk
    Start Time: 8:30 AM
Extras: Breakfast, aid stations, live music, and community lunch

Step-by-step registration and event flow: registration opened around 7 am, the Silver Queen chairlift operated from 9 am to 2 pm, and finishers were celebrated at the base with music and a catered meal

Official summaries from press outlets also reiterate that the hike—and the associated activities— took place on Saturday, July 26th, included the Summit Soirée & Auction gathering on the evening of Friday, July 25th.

As a local real estate professional, I’m proud to support causes that strengthen our community and keep the Crested Butte spirit alive. Events like the Summit Hike are just one of the many reasons this valley is such a special place to call home. If you’re thinking about planting deeper roots here — whether full-time or part-time — I’d be honored to help you navigate the real estate landscape with care and insight. Let’s connect and find your place in this incredible community.
