The Skyland Residential Community is located just two miles south of downtown Crested Butte offering easy access to the hiking and biking trails or a quick drive into town. Its name is derived from the boys and girls scout camp called Skyland Summer Camp. A Kansas group operated a boys and girls club up by Grant Lake until the late 70s. The Club at Crested Butte is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. 18-hole championship course and opened in 1984. The Club encompasses over 160 acres and offers a restaurant, a bar, pool, fitness and tennis facilities. The Skyland Subdivision is composed of over 640 acres. National Forest and the base of Crested Butte Mountain border the subdivision along the north and east and the East River gently winds along the western perimeter of the subdivision. Single-family homes, condominiums, townhomes here are surrounded by wide open spaces, walking and bike paths and access to endless recreational opportunities. For those wanting more ‘elbow’ room and larger square footage as compared to downtown Crested Butte, this is the place for you! Homeowners will also enjoy arguably some of the best sunsets and alpenglows in the valley from this subdivision.
