Weekly Market Recap: August 17, 2026

The Gunnison County real estate market had another encouraging week, with 14 new listings, 18 new sales, and $19,124,400 in total sales volume from August 10 through August 16, 2026. While new listings were down from the previous week’s 23, the number of sales jumped from 12 to 18 — a 50% increase in closed sales! Even more impressive, total sales volume climbed from $15,488,000 to $19,124,400, an increase of roughly 23.5%. That’s a great sign that buyers and sellers are continuing to make moves, and the market is showing plenty of activity as we move through the heart of summer.

And summer in the Gunnison Valley is definitely still going strong! With warm days, cool mountain evenings, outdoor recreation, and a full calendar of community activities, there is plenty happening both in town and throughout the valley. This past weekend brought the Gunnison Car Show, while the coming week features local art workshops, live music, community activities, and events such as the Artlaws of the Southwest pop-up and Friday Clay Day. August is shaping up to be a lively month, with additional concerts and community events continuing throughout the valley — including upcoming performances at I Bar Ranch later this month. For real estate, the combination of strong summer activity, continued buyer demand, and a healthy number of closed transactions makes August an exciting month to watch in Gunnison County!
