Weekly Market Recap: April 6, 2026

The real estate market in Gunnison County wrapped up the transition into April with a strong and exciting surge in activity during the week of March 30 to April 5, 2026. The county recorded an impressive 25 new listings, along with 8 new sales, bringing total sales volume to $11,936,000. That’s a big jump in both inventory and transactions compared to the prior week—great news for both buyers and sellers. More listings mean fresh opportunities across the valley, while the increase in closed sales shows that motivated buyers are still stepping in and making confident moves. From homes in Gunnison to properties near Crested Butte, the market is clearly gaining momentum as we head into the heart of the spring season.

Looking back at the previous week (March 23–29), which saw 17 new listings, 4 sales, and $7,821,500 in volume, this latest data reflects a noticeable uptick in overall activity. Not only did new listings increase significantly, but sales volume also climbed by over $4 million, reinforcing a positive trend in buyer demand and market confidence. This kind of growth is exactly what we typically see as the Gunnison Valley moves into spring—more inventory hits the market, buyers become more active, and the pace begins to pick up. It’s shaping up to be a vibrant season ahead.

As we move into this week, expect a classic early-April mix of weather in Gunnison County—a blend of sunny days, cool mornings, and the occasional late-season snow shower. Daytime temperatures generally climb into the 40s°F, offering a perfect balance between lingering ski conditions at Crested Butte Mountain Resort and the early signs of spring at lower elevations. The local calendar is also picking up with more community events, outdoor gatherings, and early spring activities across the valley, as highlighted in local April event guides. With longer days, warming temperatures, and a steadily growing real estate market, it’s an exciting time to be in Gunnison County.
